Grand Canyon

I’m often amazed at how often I run into an AZ native that hasn’t been to the Grand Canyon. I’ve been a few times in my life and every time I think… well, I saw that.

It’s a beautiful, majestic… hole in the ground. When you drive in to the park, you go to a place called The Village. It’s essentially a collection of hotels and shops. You can park and walk along the rim.  But this trip was different. We actually found a hotel in the park to stay at. We visited different look out points, and then I learned something new about the park. There’s an entirely separate entrance off of the 89!  This may not be news to you, but we had never driven this route before, and I have to say, the view points along this road are some of the most exceptional views. We were in a hurry to get to Flagstaff, but next time, we will skip the village and go straight to these look outs. Each one is amazing and unique, and a different perspective from the one you see normally.

Now, I know some of you are thinking that there is more to this amazing hole in the ground… like the hikes and the donkey rides, and the camp at the bottom. I even hear there is a cavern you can stay in, if you’re into that.  Often times, we end up here during the summer, and there’s also another fact you should know about the Grand Canyon.  The sun is about 5′ away… so the sunburn is like NO OTHER. Wear sunscreen!!

Ok, now enough talk… here are a few pictures for your enjoyment.
